How do I remove lines that appear across images?

'03 .ppt brought into PPT '07 exhibits lines (horizontal) across images.
seems to be random in effect because only a few images are affected. Images
look fine in PPT '03. I can continue to use PPT '03 but world will migrate
to '07 so, must find solution. I have tried Save As without image
compression employed but no improvement.
