How do I remove Office 2000 without the CD disk?

F

Fred

I installed Word 2003, but I broke my Office 2000 install disk and could not
remove it properly. I manually deleted the Office 2000 directory, but I
there are still traces of the program that interfere with Word 2003,
particularly when I try to embed an Excel spreadsheet in a Word document.

Is there any list of Office 2000 files that I can remove mannually?

Uninstall Word 2003 before you attempt to manually uninstall
Office 2000, and then reinstall Word 2003 after you have manually
removed Office 2000.

The following procedure to manually delete Office 2000 was
provided by a Microsoft person some time ago in one of the Office
newsgroups:

1. Download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility
from http://support.microsoft.com/?id=290301

2. Run this utility and check if Office 2000(or other Office
version) is listed.

3. Select Office Products and then click Remove.

4. Click Start, and then click Run.

5. In the "Open" (without the quotation marks) box, type
"regedit" (without the quotation marks), and then press ENTER.

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause
serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating
system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems
that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry
Editor at your own risk.

6. Backup the entire registry and then rename or delete the
following registry keys if present:
