I have Entourage on one computer, laptop Macbook Pro using an exchange
account.
Some of the folders which I created to save certain emails were
created on my computer instead of Exchange.
I received an error message stating that my database was corrupt or
failed, unfortunately I do not recall the exact
verbiage of error message. At this point I was prompted to verify
database which I did successfully and was
then prompted to rebuild database which I also did successfully. I
then opened Entourage and created my
Exchange Account again which was also successful. The only problem
now is that I am missing all the folders
with emails which I did not create on my Exchange Account. Your help
is truly greatly appreciated.
Do you still have a backup copy of the database that contained the folders
and mail? When Entourage does a rebuild it creates a backup copy. In
Entourage 2004 the old files are renamed:
Main [Backed up date and time will be shown] e.g. Main [Backed up 1-21-2007
13.35]
Under Entourage in the Menu bar, select "Switch Identity" and select the
backup. Drag each folder and subfolder to the desktop as MBOX files.
Switch back to your new Identity and drag the MBOX files into the folders
window.
I'm surprised that the folders and mail didn't make it through the rebuild.
Usually the folder will make it through even if the messages are too corrupt
to rebuild.
One last thought....were the folders you created "Folders on My Computer" or
new folders for your Exchange account? My advice above applies to "Folders
on My Computer". If the folders were for your Exchange account then it's
possible they are on the server. One of the exchange folks will need to help
with this. Exchange is not my area of expertise.
