How do I retrieve a folder on my floppy that disappeared?

When I tried to open my 3 1/2 inch floppy to resume working on my Doctoral
project, it was no where to be found. It seems as though a blank screen
replaced the document because everytime I see the name of the documnent "The
Importance of Music In Effective Worship With Teens" it appears under the 3
1/2 floppy. How can I retrieve it? I thought it was automatically saved to
the hard drive, but when I ran a scan, nothing came through.

Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. This is the
most certain method of ensuring document corruption. Copy to the hard disc
and work on the document from there.
