How do I setup a backlink in a protected document?

I have a protected document with links. These links are link to places within
the document. After trial and error, it finally worked. Though, when the user
clicks on the link, the back button doesnt work anymore. Meaning that they
would have to scroll up to go back to the same spot. Is there any vba script
or certain procedure to fix this problem?
