How do I setup Powerpoint for output on widescreen monitor

I am preparing a presentation which will be displayed on a 16:9 format plasma
screen we are renting from an exhibition organiser.

If I set my page size to 32cm x 18cm, will this definitely fill the entire
plasma screen with no 'squaushing' of images ?

Are there differences between different plasmas and laptops that I need to
be aware of in order to guarantee that my laptop will output full widescreen
image onto the plasma?
