How do I stop Norton Anti-virus for scanning my .mpp files?

I have a large master file containing 26 projects. Everytime I open or close
the file it takes forever because of the anti-virus scan. I have set every
option in Norton that I can find including placing the files on my private
director and it still insists on scanning. I am not sure what I am dealing
with here, Project (2003 Pro) or Norton
(2006).

Well its Norton for sure. I'm not sure what to tell you other than to
check Norton preferences again and make sure it is set for manual scan
only or post to a newsgroup that deals with Norton.

Just an afterthought. Are you sure it is Norton? Is it possible that you
have Project set to scan for macros? Just for fun, go to
Tools/Macro/Security and temporarily set the level to medium or low. If
your problem goes away then it is an issue with Project and you need to
check the presence of macros attached to one or more of the 26 project
files.
