How do I stop outbox transmission

Foolishly I have a very large attachment (music video) being transmitted. I
don't know why, but it is in the Outbox transmitting for over 2 hrs. I want
to abort the sending of this email, but high-lighting it in Outbox & pressing
"delete" does not work. I even tried Ctrl-Alt-Delete; my computer shut down,
but when I Restared it, the "smart-software" simplt picked up where it left
off in transmitting. I am extremely frustrated that simply "delete" does not
work.
Does someone have a SIMLE way to abort this "transmission"??

In Outlook - File->Work Offline. Completely close and restart Outlook. Delete from Outbox. File->Uncheck Work Offline. Completely close and restart Outlook.
