How do I transfer a presentation to run on a TV/DVD?

Is it feasible to run a PowerPoint Presentation on a standard TV via a DVD?

You can record your presentation using programs such as Camtasia.

Then, convert the movie to MPEG2 file, which is needed for a
video DVD.

Then you import the video into a DVD authoring program to create
the DVD menu and setup.

Lastly, burn into the DVD-R/RW.

Of what I hear, Camtasia is pretty a expensive software.
Since I might need it for a single use, do you think I would get a good
result by using something like MovieMaker2 or www.ppt.to.dvd.com ?

I have used PPT2DVD and got quite good result. It keeps almost the original
in the presentation and allow me to record narration. DVD menu is built
during the conversion which allow you to use the remote control to choose
which presentation to display. You may download a free trial version from
http://www.ppt-to-dvd.com to have a try in body.

If your presentation is very simple, you can save slides as images and make
a movie using Windows Movie maker.

If your presentation has heavy animations,embedded audios and videos, you
can check out PowerVideoMaker at:

PowerVideoMaker converts ppt to video of WMV,AVI or MPEG format ,then you
can use your DVD authoring software to burn it onto DVD.

There is a free way for you to do this:
Export your powerpoint slides to JPEG images, then use windows movie maker
to make a video, and then burn the video to DVD.
But in this way all the animations and transitions in your presentation will
be lost.

So far the best way i know is to convert your PowerPoint presentation to
MPEG-2 video format first, then burn the video to DVD.
