how do i turn on the virus scan protection

I have Windows XP Program. When I go to Security Center to check for Firewall
Protection, Automative Updates, and Virus Protection. Everything is turned
on
except Virus Protection. I tried turning this on in the Contol Panel but I
am
unsuccessful. what do I do?
