How do I unlock a macro project

I have a number of macros in Word which are locked against editing, deleting
or "stepping into". I do not know the origin of these, although they may be
the legitimate result of some action on my part. How can I discover what
they do. Titles include "AutoExec.main" and "AutoExit.main" and
"Showinterface".

If you haven't put them there yourself, they are almost certainly associated
with add-ins. In order to access the code there you would need to open the
add-in template directly in Word, however many proprietary add-ins will be
password protected.

You can find out what add-in the macros are associated with by changing the
"Macros in" selection in the Tools | Macro | Macros dialog until you see the
offending ones listed. Then you can decide how to deal with that add-in.
