How do I unprotect a document if I can't press the unprotect butt.

I've got problems after saving a protected document to unprotect it. I
protected the document so only the form fields could be edited. And now Word
won't let me unprotect the document.

I think the original poster said that it isn't letting her unprotect the
document. Sounds like she knows how to do it, it just isn't letting her...

I interpreted the post to mean that the poster couldn't click the lock on
the Forms toolbar, probably because it is not showing. Could be wrong, you
are welcome to go into details on how to use vba to unprotect or to
replicate the text from the document in a new one if you wish. I'll wait to
know that this is needed.

I assume you used the Control Toolbox for the form fields. This activates the
macro storage area of the document. Thus, re-opening triggers macro security.
From the sound of it, your macro security is set to "High". You have to reduce
it to "medium" in order to unprotect or work with the document.

Or, you have to recreate the form using the Forms toolbar.
