How do you convert .wma files to .mid or .wav files?

Help! I want to insert Media Player files into a PowerPoint
presentation...and then fade the music at the end of a particular series of
slides. Any ideas? The media player files are .wma and the "Sounds" in
PowerPoint at .wav files...can I convert them (from .wma to .wav)???

Thanks,
Linda

You can insert WMA files into PPT. Why do you need to convert them?

You might actually need to edit the files, though, because PPT won't fade
the files regardless of file type -- it plays sounds pretty much "as is."
You'll need to do any actual in a sound editing program.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is a good free sound editor, but it
currently doesn't support WMA files. So maybe try one listed here:

Also, WAV files can be embedded in your presentation whereas other types
cannot. That might be a consideration for you.

To play sound across slides in PPT, see
Play sounds across multiple slides (A WAV runs through it)
