how do you manage your user names and passwords

As we add more and more social network sites, search engine homepages and
email addresses we accumulate more and more user names and passwords.

My exercise books are driving me nuts - I can't sort them nor search them
easily.

Does anyone have a good template for managing this information easily.

I just keep mine in a word document (search is possible) and I password
protect the document and the document is saved on to a thumb drive. That
makes it physically protected (disconnected from the computer) and even if
it is lost, it makes it difficult for most people to read.

And I am sure that Joseph also keeps a backup copy of the document file on
another media in a secure location in case the thumb drive dies or is lost
so he has access to the passwords and login names.

I do the same thing but mine is stored on my PDA using the Memo feature,
both on the laptop's program and within the actual PDA, both password
protected. Currently only 202 logon names and passwords and counting. It
is simple to copy and paste the user name and password from the PDA's
program into any web site I try to go to. The same can be accomplished from
within a Word document on a thumb drive (but isn't as easily portable if you
are using a computer that may not have Word on it.)

As a matter of fact I do (two). I should have indicated that as it's
loss would be a real problem. I have one digital backup (also a PDA and
one paper copy (it is a word document)
