How do you print labels from a filtered category within my Outloo.

For the life of me I can not figure out how to take a filtered version of my
Outlook contacts database and print labels from it. Surely this must be an
easy thing to do, the real life example is I have many contacts, a subset of
which I want to send holiday cards to.

All I want to do is select those by category, print out a label page and
ship them off.

Select the Contacts
Tools > Mail Merge...
Use the option to merge "only to selected Contacts."
