How do you set concurrent tasks within a project in MS Project ?

I have a Commercial building Project that has a number of different things
happening at the same time. How do I reflect this in one MS Project project?

ie the industrial electricians will be doing stuff at the same time as the
builder but they dont neccessarily affect each other as far as predeccessors
& successors go. I dont want to have multiple projects linked, I just want to
have this reflected in the one project if possible.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers JS.

It's hard to know where to start.
First, are you using the predecessor links and not typing in dates?

Joshua,
Maybe I'm missing something but setting this up should be pretty
straightforward. Just lay in the tasks and only link those that indeed
have a dependency. Project's default is to have all tasks start on the
Project Start Date (Project/Project Information). The estimated duration
and links define the schedule for follow-on tasks. If one or more tasks
starts independently of the Project Start Date, then enter that date
directly in the task Start field (Project will automatically set a
"start-no-earlier-than" constraint).

Just a comment about predecessors and successors in general. Not all
tasks will have a predecessor (e.g. tasks with an independent start)
but, all tasks must have a successor (otherwise why is the task being
done?).

Hope this helps.
