how 'from' appears in received emails

The answer to my question is probably very simple, but I can't figure
it out.

When one of my emails is received, the 'from' appears as John Palmer
User. How do I drop the 'User' from the email?

I would say, ask the sender to correct his "From" field. I suspect he
has it like that on the application he sends e-mails with,
