How many PCs can I load MS Office XP for Students and Teachers on

B

I have MS Office XP for Students and Teachers version 2002. Someone told me I
can load it on 3 Pcs. It is installed on 2 at present. When I tried to
activate it on a third PC a reject message came up. Am I doing something
wrong?

Q. How many activations/installations will be allowed for each license of the Office Student and Teacher
Edition 2003?

A. You can install Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 on up to three computers in your home without
having to buy extra licenses. Get software for the entire family and save money.

I'm not sure about the Microsoft Office XP Student and Teacher Edition, but I think that only allows up to 2
computers. You can get this information by reading the Microsoft Office XP Student and Teacher Edition EULA
(End User License Agreement), which I have not read.

If I'm right (which I think I am), then that "someone" who told you that you could "load it on 3 PCs" was
talking about Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003 (which is currently the latest version of the
Student and Teacher Edition).

Thanks for your reply. I'm pleased to tell you that I tried activating it
again and this time when the dialogue box came up I selected the activate by
phone option. When I eventually got through to a human they asked me how many
PCs I had installed it on and when I said 2 they gave me an activation code
to enter on screen and that was that. I'm very pleased with the outcome!

The CSR you spoke to must have thought you meant STE 2003. The Office XP STE
may be installed on *ONE* system at a time. Read the EULA, of which you are
now in violation. I suggest you purchase the 2003 edition, so you will,
again, be in compliance with the agreement.
