How often and who is in charge? Sync questions

Hey ya'll -

Hats off to the Mac BU for this long awaited update! Ya'll have done a
great job with this - something I've been waiting for so long!

Two questions:

1) How often does Entourage sync its data with the other apps? (This is
with merge as the selected option if that makes a difference). I don't
see any "sync now" button or anything, so I'm guessing it happens
pretty soon after you make a change?

2) If you have merge selected as an option, how do you actually delete
things? If I delete a contact in Entourage, will it also delete it in
Address book? Or will address book win in this case and readd the
contact to Entourage? Or will it ask me? What if I delete a contact off
my cell phone? Will it delete it in the apps or leave it there? I would
just play around and get the answers but I'm scared of messing up my
data - everything has worked so great so far! Thanks.

It seems to. However, it might be a few more seconds until iCal (what I
tested with) notices the change has been made and updates its view of life.

But it seems to work :)
2) If you have merge selected as an option, how do you actually delete
things?

There's a decent little technical note at:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/sync_services_basics.html>

It suggests that option is just a temporary one - what should the first sync
do? Thereafter, changes made in Entourage will get reflected elsewhere, and
the other way around too.
If I delete a contact in Entourage, will it also delete it in
Address book?

I created a calendar entry in Entourage, and deleted it in iCal. It
disappeared from Entourage a second or so later.

It appears to Just Work.

Cheers,

Chris
