How or when are task update auto accept rules applied

The rules we defined to accept task update automatically are never applied.

Are these rules supposed to be applied based on a timer delay or applied
each time a task update is entered?

Missing configuration? Not waiting longuer enough? Anyone got an idea why we
never see our task update auto accepted?

The kind of project we plan are executed inside time ranging from 2 days to
a week and containing arround 200 tasks. Auto acceptance of certain tasks is
an important part of the process to have our project running without beeing
in front of a computer 24/7 to accept every actual progress changes.

There is nothing "automatic" about Rules. At best they are
"semi-automatic", which means that you must click the Run Rules Now button
to apply your Rules. When you click the button, the Rules you have created
will process all pending updates according to the criter in each Rule. Hope
this helps.

Thanks Dale,

I forgot to specify that we are running MSPS 2007. We checked "Automatically
run this rule".

If the "Auto Rules" are not applyed without user interaction, what is this
option for?

It is for manually updating a batch of updates that all meet a certain
criteria. The option is not totally automatic because of Microsoft's
assumption that you need to be involved at least minimally in the process of
updating actuals into your projects. I agree with their assumption, by the
way. :) Hope this helps.
