How to access Entourage emails remotely using.Mac and Back to My Mac

I am running Microsoft Entourage 2004 for the Mac, Version 11.4.0, on two Intel-based Macs running MacOS 10.5.2. I want to access the email stored on my desktop machine remotely from my laptop using .Mac and "Back to My Mac".

I am able to "see" all of the files and folders on the desktop machine. However, I don't know where to look for the emails that is stored on the desktop. If I double click on the desktop's Entourage icon, I get the email that is stored on the laptop.

Can someone please tell me where to look for the desktops stored email?

Thank you.

You cannot access another computer's database through Entourage (at least
not very conveniently), so in order to get to your desktop Mac's database,
you will also need to run the Entourage application that can be found on its
hard disk. Since you are already using "Back to My Mac", why don't you use
the Share Screen function to get access to your desktop Mac's screen? That
way, you can open Entourage on the remote machine and read e-mail messages
in a separate window on your laptop.

That makes sense since Back to my Mac is a glorified VNC client/server
solution.
However, I don't know where to look for the emails that is stored on the

I don't understand. BTMM presents you with the screen of the remote
machine in a window. You should see Entoruage there and have access to
everythign that's stored in that machine.
Everything has to be done through this window though. No need looking in
ENtourage on your own Mac. You need to launch it on the remote Mac and
look there.

I did not look at Entourage on my laptop! I looked at Entourage on the desktop in my home office, approximately 2000 miles away. However, when I opened Entourage on the desktop machine, it showed the emails on the laptop!

That is the problem. Can you tell me where to look for the .rge files that Entourage creates? If I can find them, then I can double-click on that icon and the desktop's email should show.

Entourage only creates .rge files when you export data. Entourage stores
your mail in a database.

Then how can I point the desktop Entourage application at the desktop Entourage's database?

I suspect there is a confusion here.
You can indeed export e-mails and contacts, etc from one Mac into a .rge
archive and re-import it on another one (through the Import command),
but that has nothing to do with BTMM.

BTMM lets you remote-control a Mac. You can open a window showing you
the screen of the other computer, launch ENtourage on this other Mac,
etc. BTMM also lets you mount the drive from the other Mac, but
considering the speed of the network between the two, it probably would
NOT be a good idea to trick Entourage to open the database from the
other Mac directly (though it is possible: you need to create an alias
for it in the MUD folder).

It all depends on what you want to do.

Personnally, I went through a much easier way to get my e-mails on
multiple locations: I access the accounts through IMAP. No need to
access the other Mac in any way,
