How to ask for updates in MS project

jorge

I am managing a project and there is a lot of participants involved in the
project. I do not have Project server and because the sensitivity of the
busines where I am involved I could not post my project on the web.
How can I electronically request to the project participants (resources) for
an update of a task via e-mail. Is there is way to do it with the project
standard program
Thanks

Hi Jorge,

You don't mention which version of MS Project you are using. In Project
2002 there is a workgroup messaging feature which uses email to do what you
are looking for.
Search help for "collaborate" to view details.

The feature is no longer supported in Project 2003 although Microsoft has
made a download available. See:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;818337

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Just to be clear, Project Server does not require you to post anything
on the web. It does require that your project data will be on your
internal network for sure but it will be secured so that only the right
people have access to the data.
