How to automatically reply using the same account

I have 3 mail accounts. One for work, one Gmail and one Yahoo. I
currently have my work account set as the default. When I reply to
messages from the Gmail or Yahoo accounts, mail is set to reply using
the work (default) mail account.

Is there a way to set Entourage to reply using the same account as the
mail was received from? If mail was received into the Gmail account,
I want to reply using my Gmail SMTP and use the Gmail signature
automatically, not have to set it manually.

I'm using Entourage 2004 v11.3.3.
Thanks,

John

This is the normal behavior. New from scratch email would be from your
default account, but replies would use the account that received the
message.

Normally, the question is reversed where folks want to know how to make them
all use the same reply to address. Do you have reply-to in the additional
headers for those accounts?

I don't think I explained it well enough. It's not the Reply-To which
I want changed. My understanding of the Reply-To feature is that
messages with Reply-To set will default for the recipient to the email
address set in the Reply-To parameter. That is, if the email was sent
from Gmail and I had the Reply-To set to my Yahoo address, when the
recipient replies to the email it would default to my Yahoo address.

What I'm experiencing is the reverse.
1. I receive emails from my Gmail POP account into my Entourage Inbox.
2. I reply to an email in my Inbox
3. I would like the "From:" account to specify my Gmail SMTP
automatically. It's automatically specifying my work (Exchange)
"From:" and I have to manually switch it to the Gmail SMTP account in
the "From:" field. My signatures also specify my work signature and I
would like it to specify my Gmail signature automatically.

Hope that clarifies things.

Where are you setting the ³reply-to²? Are these additional headers?

Just because it¹s in your Inbox doesn¹t mean anything. It¹s not the folder
that determines the account used, it¹s the account that created the message
unless the additional header sends it to a different address.

Entourage replies using the account that received the message.

What is your default email address?
Hope that clarifies things.

I¹m still pretty confused so we¹ll have to keep trying to understand one
another.

Hi John!

In Entourage --> Preferences --> Reply & Forard deselect "Reply using
the default account".

Hope this helps! bill
