how to create a sign-in sheet for parent workshop

I need to create a sign in sheet using excel but the grids have to horizontal
opposed using verticle lines. I need to have parent name, date, and parent
signature.

The gridlines you see in Excel do not print by default. If you want lines to
print you need to add borders to the gridlines using Border formatting.
Select the cells for the borders, for Excel 2007 on the Home tab in the Font
group, click the dialog box launcher (arrow in the lower right corner), for
previous versions click Format/Cells. Select the Border tab, select a line
style, then click the Inside Horizontal icon, or click the line between the
sample cells in the preview.

I suspect the OP knows it *can* be done since they indicated they need
horizontal lines, what they are asking is *how* to accomplish the task.
