How to create Installers

I

Ian

I am looking to create installers for Office 2003 and 2007 which will be
made available to all my companies employess via a network share. I want to
have this as simple as possible so just an executable file would be ideal.
Its important the volume license key is invisible to them also during the
install. If anyone has done this before or could recommend a way f doing this
id like to hear from you.

Cheers
Ian

Office 2003
Get yourself a copy of the office 2003 resource kit (the ORK is a free
download), read up on how to make an AIP (for office xp for example you can
look at this guide, for 2003 its pretty much the same procedure, using 2003
patches of course - http://www.kernelklenke.net/office/oxpss.html). Then run
the custom install wizard (CIW) from the ORK against your AIP. You can then
pre-setup all the configuration changes you want within that wizard. You can
then take the .adm files from the link I previously gave you, load them up
into AD & set the options there as well to make sure everyone has those same
options set. Get the .adm files here -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...20-EDC2-479B-B115-5ABB70B3F490&displaylang=en
This wont turn it into a single file install but it will hide the VLK. For
the single file install you could probably check into
any one of the many self extracting installers (winzip/izarc & the like make
those). Keep in mind if you want to
deploy this with your users doing the actual deployment they will need local
admin rights.

Office 2007 - youll have to dig that info up yourself
