How to create seasonal (winter) downtime periods (winter)

PaoloKramer

Hi,

I'm currently working on a civil engineering project in a continental
climate, where the weather can prevent large scale open-air works for up to 5
months per year, while other works such as tunnelling or fitting out of
already constructed buildings, etc, can continue.

I need to be able to create a block in the calendar for these five months
and be able to specify whether a particular task can be carried out during
these periods. Is this possible?? I think perhaps it is too complicated for
poor ol'Project....

Thanks - Paul

Hi,

It is definitely possible!
Tools, Change Working time, create a new base calendar
How to do that is essentially different from Project 2007 (where it is very
complicated) to all previous versions, where it was childishly easy.
If necessary I'll come back and explain it for your version as soon as I
know that one.
Name this Calendar say Winter.
Now select the tasks you want to run according to the Winter Calendar, click
the "Task Information" button on the Toolbar, Advanced Pad, in Calendar
select Winter instead of none.

There you are.
