Entourage has too good a memory. I have tried but failed to delete email
addresses that are out-of-date. So, I have several addresses that come up
for the same individual and I have to be really careful. What can I do?
Entourage uses the Address Book and the Most Recently Used list to fill in
addresses.
Delete Old address from Address Book:
1. Open the Address Book.
2. On the View menu, select Columns->Last Correspondence. This will display
the most recent date on which you sent mail to, or received mail from, each
contact.
3. Click on the Last Correspondence column to sort the contacts by that
field.(If the field is blank it means you have never sent or received mail
from this contact.)
4. Select the date range of contacts you no longer want to keep.
Command-click any within the range that you do want to keep.
5. Press the Delete key!
To Clear addresses from the Most Recently Used:
Entourage X and 2004: To clear ALL there is a preference in Mail & Compose: Clear List button. There is also an option in the preferences to
disable this feature all together.
Both versions: To clear a single address, add it exactly like the one that
is remembered to your address book and mark it as Junk (or assign category
Junk). You can just delete the address, but if you receive it again it will
just be added back. Marking as junk will permanently remove it from the
AutoComplete list.
