How to detect if a message is deleted (IMAP)

For an Outlook (2003) add-in, I want to know whether a given (IMAP)
message is deleted or not (in case it is deleted I call a method A,
else a method B).

Is there any way to find the delete status of a message? I tried
OutlookSpy but didn't find any property or method...
