how to disable microsoft office outlook synchronizing folder

whenever I open my microsoft outlook and click ont eh send/recieve botton,
i kept recieving my old and opened e-mails.

I would like to know how to disable this action.

POP3? This means something is preventing your messages from being downloaded
from the server. Turn of any e-mail scanning tools and your firewall and see
if it still occurs.
