How to do a manual line break?

Hi everybody,

I've been using another word processor where I used to sometimes press
something that used to give me something I called a 'soft' return.
In other words i got a new line but it remained the same paragraph.

Is there a way of doing it in word? And is there a shortcut to this?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Press Shift while hitting Enter... I don't know of any shorter cut than that

To do a manual Line break there are two ways to go about it.
1) go to Insert on the menu bar click on Break and then click Text Wrapping
Break
2) or just Shift-Enter like CyberTaz said which is a whole lot easier but
sometimes people don't like keyboard shortcuts...I don't know why you're
hands are on the keyboard already, right Taz? Taz is most always right in
his answers...bright guy.

A text wrapping break is not the same thing as a line break. There is no way
to insert a line break using Insert | Break. You might not see the
difference between a line break and a text wrapping break in straight text,
but if the text is wrapped next to a graphic, there is a big difference.
