How to eliminate noise/garbage characters from preview pane

Hello:

Does anyone have any advice on preventing noise or garbage characters from
showing up in the preview pane of emails in my Entourage for MAC version
11.2.5. I have rebuilt the email account, but that doesn't help. Sometimes
shutting the program and restarting helps temporarily but the noise keeps
creeping back into the preview pane. I'm running an iMAC using System OS X
10.3.9.

Do these "garbage characters" disappear when you hit the reply or forward
buttons? In that case, there might be a corrupt cache file. Quit Entourage,
then delete the files "Tasman Browser.cache" and
"com.microsoft.browserfont.cache" in ~/Library/Caches. This should solve
your problem.
