How to extract a picture from Template background?

Please Help! Urgent assistance required!

I need to extract a photo from the background of a slide master...

I have the presentation (saved on the network..)
However... Unfortunately I don't have the original photo as it was
saved in "my pictures" on my old PC... which got stolen...

(And it was off my digital camera, so I don't have negatives to go back
too.)

I need to extract it to make some modifications to it with Photo
Editor.
Does anyone know a way I can get it out of the Powerpoint Template??
I have Powerpoint 2000, but can go to 2003 if this will help??

Any assistance really appreciated!

Cheers,
Melissa.

Go to File > Open and locate the template (.POT) file. Then go to File > Save
as Web Page and save it as HTML. A folder will be created, named the same as
the template. In the folder you will find a JPG file that is the background
image.
