How to Fix Corrupt Slide Layout

Hi All,

I have a very important large file with a corrupt slide layout. If I
change it to another layout it works fine, but I can't save the file
if the layout is still being used.

All backup versions for years back use this layout and won't work
assuming because the layout is in PowerPoint itself and not the file.

It is corrupt on all computers opening this file as well so I guess it
carries the corruption to other computers.

Help!

Thanks so much if you can,

Michele

That's not a lot to go on, Michele. Remember, we don't know anything
about your computer and can't see what you're seeing, can't hear it
scream, or smell the smoke coming out of its vents. ;-)

What version of PPT is this, what version created the original file and
what versions have "touched" it in the interim?

What makes you say the layout is corrupted? What symptoms do you see?

Why can't you save the file? What happens when you try?

Do you get error messages at any point? What's the *exact* text?

In this situation, a third party Power point recovery application may help yo
to repair and recover corrupt or damaged powerpoint file. One such applicatio
that worked for me is here: http://www.recover-computerdata.com
