How to get month to date totals

I'm currently putting together a worksheet which will read data fro
another worksheet and display the daily totals for this week, las
week, month to date, and start of project to date. Everything els
works fine except the month to date. I've tried both SUMIF an
SUMPRODUCT formulas with no success. Anyone got any ideas? Figur
that A1 of the report worksheet has today's date and that Column A o
the worksheet with all the data contains the dates for that data

not sure about the layout of your spreadsheet but if col. a stores the
dates and B the values to sum try something like
=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A100<=TODAY()),--(MONTH(A1:A100)=MONTH(TODAY())),--(Y
EAR(A1:A100)=YEAR(TODAY())))
