How to hide symbol of the "P" (paragraph?) on word document?

Sam

I followed the tips given but I cannot seem to get the symbol off my word
documents. It may be because I don't know what the computer is trying to tell
me. What is the technical name for this. I am using Microsoft XP3 and
Internet Explorer 6.

On the Standard toolbar in Word, look for the "P" paragraph symbol.
Click on it. That will hide them. Or you can go to Tools|Options and
click on the View tab. Remove the check marks in the Formatting Marks
section. That will also hide them.

Paragraph marks do not print. Their purpose is to tell you where a
paragraph ends. They're also where the paragraph formatting
information such as indents and space before or after the paragraph is
kept. They do clutter up the screen but I prefer to see them. Other
prefer not to. It's user choice.
