How to import "old" emails & data from external hard drive without losing new emails & data

Hey All! :)

I'm back! and so is my computer, with a new hard drive! :) Now I need
to figure out how to get my Entourage X data from an external disk
drive into Entourage X on my Powerbook G4.

My computer came back with a new, blank, hard drive inside it. I've
installed Office X and have received some emails through Entourage.
Now I need to get all of my Entourage data (emails, drafts, addresses,
etc.) from the external disk drive that I backed it up to, back into
Entourage in my Powerbook.

My concern is that because I have already received some email after the
new install of Entourage X I'm concerned that I might lose that new
email while moving my "old" Entourage data back in to my Powerbook.

Can anyone help?

Thank you very much!
Diane
ps: John (McGhie), I am watching for questions I can answer. :) The
first one I answered I answered wrong and someone came in and corrected
it but that might have been at the Apple boards rather than here. I'm
watching though. ;)

First, open Entourage X with your new data. Drag mail folders from the
Folder List onto the Desktop to archive them. Do the same for new contacts
you've created.

Now, drag your identity folder (located in Backup/Microsoft User Data/Office
X Identities/<Your Identity>) into the Microsoft User Data/Office X
Identities/ folder in your active user's folder (usually HD/Users/<Your
User>). You should be able to access your old data in Entourage X. If not,
go to Entourage > Switch Identity, and re-select your old identity. Now,
just drag the archived folders from the Desktop into the Folder List of your
old identity to import them.
Thank you very much!

You're welcome.

I don't know if John reads this group regularly. I'm sure he'll appreciate
that you're helping.
