How to look up historical appointments/tasks for a contact

In the activities tab, the only option pertaining to
appointments and tasks in the show dropdown list is show
upcoming appointments/tasks. Is there any way to view
historical, or better yet, both historical and upcoming
appointments & tasks for a given contact?
