How to POP Exchange mail?

P

Hi,

I am having trouble downloading via POP a certain kind of Exchange
incoming mail.

For some reason, mail sent to me by other accounts on the same Exchange
server (at my workplace) using the Global Address book are visible in
my Web Access inbox, but are NOT POP-able.

While emails sent to the address from OUTSIDE my workplace, ie not on
the same Exchange server and not using the Global Addess Book, ARE
POP-able.

Can anyone shed light on why this would be the case, or if I indeed
have a problem that needs a fix. I'd like to be able to POP both kinds
of mail.

thanks in advance,

p.

POP-able? Do you mean you're unable to download them?

While Exchange servers within businesses are capable of offering
POP/SMTP and IMAP for Mac email connections, the standard method would
be to use the "Exchange" setup that Entourage offers. Since you're
posting in an Entourage forum I assume you're using Entourage and expect
that you're using Entourage 2004, which supports the Exchange
connectivity. If not, please post more details.

I suspect that the reason you're unable to receive messages from your
Exchange server is that POP services are not enabled and you do need to
use the Exchange method built into Entourage 2004. You're probably able
to download outside email because those do use POP services.

Hope this helps! bill
