How to prohibit resolution loss by saving as poststamp picture?

P

Piet

In Powerpoint 2007 I insert a high resolution picture.
I reduce the size of the picture to a poststamp.
I do "Save" ('97-2003 format).
I enlarge the picture size again and recognize resolution loss of the picture.

I would like to keep the original resolution, with keeping the freedom of
resizing the picture.

Who can help me?

Hi Piet

My guess is that you have "auto picture compression on save" turned on

It's a very bad move in my book but I am wondering why you reduce the
picture size?

John

It's in Picture Tools > Compress Pictures > Options

Hi John,

thank you very much for the solution.
In our department we have a one page powerpoint with several message icons.
The management can add in their presentation one of those message icons.
Sometimes they would emphasis on such a message and enlarge such an icon.
It's a pitty when a message is blurred at such a moment.
