How to search in Outlook 2002?

I maintain a contact list in a sub folder of Contacts with about 700
contacts. When I have just a phone number I search for it but it never finds
what I am looking for. How many fields can I search in and how do I do it?
The search also takes 10 minutes or more.

Appreciate any help.
