How to select in Accounts tab

When writing mail, next to the [send] tab is [accounts] tab. clicking on it
gives me 3 choices to send mail via. #1) Fax Mail Transport. #2)
Pop.earthlink.net #3) my earthlink.net mail account. It seems to always
default back to the first one. Which is Not the one I want to use. How do I
perminately change it to #3?

Tools->options->mail settings. Under your accounts, set your preferred
sending account as the default.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Carol asked:
