How to set Default Recipients

John Ortt

Hi there,

I work for a large organisation and as a result there are almost always a
number of people with the same name as the intended recipient.

I have tried copying my frequent contact details to my Contacts folder and
telling outlook to search there first but it still searches the corporate
directory even if it finds the address in my address book.

To try to get round this and to save time I have created a series of
distribution lists consisting of peoples initials and a single e-mail
address inside. This allows me to type "JB" instead of "Joe Bloggs" which
gets round the searching issue in some cases and makes typing the recipients
name quicker.

The only problem is that some don't work, for example Mark Andrews would
become MA and the search engine would return lots of people with the letters
"ma" in their name (including the original Mark Andrews).

Is there any way to set precidents, i.e.
If you find a name in my distribution lists don't look further (else)
If you find a name in my Contacts don't look further (else)
Look in the Global Address Book.

Or is there a way to force it to look for the exact letters typed and no
more?

If not I think my best bet is to put an additionnal character infront of the
distribution lists to foil the search engine, eg "MA" might become
">MA"......

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou,

John Ortt
