How to set page alignment?

W

Winekno

Hello:
Does anyone know how to set the page alignment of web
pages so that they appear centered on the browser screen
rather than default left?

I've created tables in shared borders and the body, and
have set it to "Center" but the left shared border still
looks like it is defaulting to the left.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Howdy:

Try adding this to your <head> section:
<style>
body { text-align: center }
</style>
of course, if you already have a style sheet, you can just
add
body { text-align: center }
to the top.

To do this through the GUI:

1. Choose Styles from the Format menu.
2. Set List: to HTML Tags.
3. In the Styles box, select body.
4. Click Modify, Format, and Paragraph.
5. Set Alignment to Center
6. Click OK thrice.

Beware, however, that this will center everything on the
page that's not enclosed within another element. This is
usually OK on shared border pages, because FrontPage
creates a single table that surrounds everything else on
the page. But on pages that don't use shared borders, you
may need to create your own table or layer that surrounds
everything else.

Hi:
This only put the body table in the center. I need for
the shared borders to be centered as well. When I
designate the tables in shared borders to center, it is
still defaulting to the left.
thanks,
Winekno

By design Left shared border are left aligned (and right shared borders are right aligned
- You could try to put your left shared border in a right aligned table and you main page in a center aligned table (but the left
shared border will still be offset to the left unless you also add an equal right shared border)
- Or use include pages instead and build your own center aligned tables
