Hi Chelsea,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Furthermore, you should not be typing in dates. Enter tasks, durations and
the precedence (logic) links. Then Project will calculate the dates for
you, which is what it is designed to do. Entering dates will also cause
constraints to be added and this will affect the flexibility of your
project.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

while i have another prb now, ya ,i follow ur guide to enter tasks,
durations and precedence links,
i.e my subtask1 with duration 3 dys(due from 2009/08/17 to 2009/08/19),
subtask2 with duration 4dys(due from 2009/08/18 to 2009/08/24),coz it's
exists a override dys from 2009/08/18 to 2009/08/19
,the total project workdy is 5.06 dys.

how can i let it's display 5 dys nor 5.06 coz the project is just from
2009/08/17 to 2009/08/24?

Hi Chelsea,

Jan already gave you the answer. It appears there is a mis-match
between the calendar working hours set in Tools > Change Working
time, and your definition of a "day" set in Tools > Options,
Calendar tab.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
