you've not really provided enough information for us to assist with - it is
always best to ask a specific question when possible.
However, you can count the number of items in a range using either the
COUNT, COUNTA, COUNTIF or SUMPRODUCT functions depending exactly on what it
is you're trying to do.
Additionally, Excel isn't the ideal product for databases .. again depending
on what you're trying to achieve.
