How to strike through text?

The microsoft website suggests the same workaround I came up with, using the
line drawing tool to strike through text. But if one is editing a
presentation that uses text boxes, and makes changes in addition to striking
through some text with the line method, the fact that the line isn't
attached to the text itself makes it an imperfect at best workaround.

Any other clever ideas? Thanks.

The only solution I could come up with is a "work around."

You can use the line feature on the drawing menu to strike through your
text. It is not the best tool to use but it is the only one I found in
PowerPoint. However, the nice thing I like about using this for the strike
through is that I can format the line. By right clicking on the line and
going to format autoshape, you can change the color, style, weight and
consistency (dashed or not) of the line. It is a great way to jazz up a
report or call attention to an important deleted item.

Hope this helps you!
