Hi,
I am trying to find a way to use Outlook as a tool that
would provide data gathering capability for technicians
on the shop floor of our company. Currently they fill in
work orders by hand and the process it tedious. Overtime
it also adds up to a significant amount of paper that may
or may not be kept. I am trying to drive through changes
that would enable us to implement the use of PDA's as
entry tools and wireless capability for the techs to have
online access to data and documentation that they require
in addition to being able to report incidents and "fixes"
in a modern time sensitive manner. I am not certain
whether or not discussion groups in outlook are currently
feasible but it would be one method of getting the data
and being able to store it directly while answering
anothers question/ concern/ or inquiry regarding an issue.
