HTML forwarding

When I receive an HTML message in Entourage and "download images", it
displays as expected. However, when I try and forward it, all of the
formatting disappears and only the text and links remain. Does anyone
know how to preserve the HTML for a forwarded message and get
Entourage to behave like Outlook?

Thanks much!

This is typically an issue with forwarding complex HTML messages, that is,
messages that use HTML elements not supported by Entourage's built-in HTML
editor for composing HTML messages. This is because by forwarding,
Entourage allows you to edit the content, so the content has to be converted
to a format Entourage can edit. You can avoid this issue by forwarding as
an attachment. In Entourage 2004, select the message, and then go to
Message > Forward as Attachment. In Entourage X or 2001, just create a new
message, and then drag the message you want to forward onto the new message
composition window.

In the future, please state which version of Entourage you're using.

I have notice the same issue in Entourage 2004 v11.3.6 and when it
happens I just go back and use the Forward as an Attachment option. I
do not understand why you suggested dragging the message to the new
composition window? Please clarify..... I must be missing something
important.

Thanks for the explanation. My bad for not mentioning that this was
Entourage 2004. Any idea whether this will be fixed in "2008?"

Thanks!

If you have Entourage 2004, you can just use the forward as attachment
feature. That isn't present in Entourage X and 2001, so users need to
manually attach the message they wish to forward to a new message. An easy
way to do so is to drag the file one wants to attach (like a saved e-mail
message) directly onto a new message window, as then it will be attached
without having to browse for the file within the "Add Attachment" screen.

I have version 2008 and this is still a problem. I forward an email and the html formatting is gone, in favor of an editable version? I've never had to do that. Can't that be something you choose instead of the default?
I'm assuming the only workaround is to keep forwarding as an attachment. That's absurd. I have to keep using my Lotus Notes account to do a simple forward and preserve the html formatting...booo. This should be fixed.
I've submitted my feedback through the Help on my Entourage, but checking here if I've missed anything.
Thanks.

Forward as attachment from the Message menu.

Why is forwarding html messages a problem for Entourage but not Outlook or Mac Mail? I see forwarding as attachment as a workaround, not as a solution.
When I forward email, I like to remove the names of other recipients. By sending as an attachment, I am unable to do this.

That's the way MS designed it to work. Send Feedback to Microsoft from
Entourage's Help menu to suggest they make it work better.

In addition to forwarding the message as an attachment, I also copy the body
of the email and paste it into the new message. That at least maintains the
paragraph breaks and renders the message readable instead of running
everything together.
