HTML in emails. . .

My windows friend (who is less tech savyvy than I) is always sending
me emails with web pages embedded. She just copies the webpage,
pastes into her email program (outlook? something standard) and then
I get the email as a webpage, with colours and graphics.

Is this something that can be done in Entourage? If not, why and are
there any programs that this does work in?

thanks

Are you asking how to do this in Entourage? Please do the world a favor and
send a URL instead.

In addition to Diane's highly recommendable suggestion:

In Windows, this works because of the tight integration between Internet
Explorer and Outlook Express. On a Mac, you can do the same thing if Mail is
defined as the default e-mail client and you use Mac OS X 10.4; just click
on File>Mail Contents of this Page in Safari.

As for Entourage: you will need to use a free script, Send Complex HTML,
which you can find here:

<http://scriptbuilders.net/files/sendcomplexhtmlx2.1.html>

Follow the instructions in the read me file to set up the script. Next,
navigate to the page you'd like to send (again, do this only when you are
absolutely, positively sure that people want this; you will do the world a
big favour by sending the URL instead), save it as an HTML file, then create
a new Entourage message, add a recipient, a subject line, then run the
script and locate the HTML file you've just saved. That should do the job.

I probably wasn't as clear as I should have been. I was trying to
create HTML emails the way I receive them all the time from different
people, like newsletters, etc. I noticed they are all windows user.
I am wanting to send out invitations etc that aren't just text and I
figured it must be easy to do as I receive html emails from people
using outlook all the time.

I cant' send a URL because there is no webpage to reference. Thanks
Michael for the instructions, it is clearly a lot more complicated on
the Mac side than in Windows, and I wasn't sure why.

thanks again

You can also use Word 2004 to compose a richly formatted document and then
click on File>Send to>Mail Recipient (as HTML). This is easier and more
straightforward than the methods I mentioned yesterday.
