html language is changed wnen using html source

When using word 2002 to add shopping cart to my web page
thru viewing html source my language is changed (adds &amp
and other words). My shopping cart still works but it
takes me to anothore page.When I edit my page off the web
site using view source and note pad, this does not happen.
How can I correct this. Am an ametuer. Thanks for your help
